Have you Earthed Today?

Earthing, also known as grounding, is the process where you connect with the earth beneath your feet to obtain various health benefits. The earth not only nourishes you with essential resources like food and water but also serves as a solid foundation for all your physical activities such as sitting, standing, walking, running, swimming, climbing, playing, and building.

In addition to these fundamental advantages, there's something remarkable that the earth offers - electrons. When you come into direct contact with the ground using your bare feet or body, electrons effortlessly flow into your system. This natural phenomenon is aptly termed as “earthing” or "grounding."

Why are electrons important to us?

Electrons are crucial in various physical phenomena like electricity, magnetism, chemistry, and thermal conductivity. They also contribute to gravitational, electromagnetic, and weak interactions. Additionally, electrons play a significant role in earthing processes.

It is believed that in the energy cycle within an organism, electrons are transferred from hydrocarbons to oxygen. This energy cycle serves as the key mechanism for sustaining vital processes in cells. Currently, there is a significant amount of research being conducted on redox imbalances in the body, including the effects of Earthing.

How does one earth?

Earthing is as simple as taking your shoes off and walking around bare foot, sitting on the ground, or laying on the ground to absorb the earth’s electrons. The more contact you have with the earth the more one will benefit. Ideally, you’ll want to earth for about 20 minutes or more per day if possible.

What are the benefits?

There are numerous benefits aside from recharging your human battery such as:

  • Better sleep

  • Help regulate the day-night cortisol rhythm

  • Alleviate pain

  • Reduce stress

  • Mental clarity

  • Switching your body from a parasympathetic mode (fight/flight) to a sympathetic mode (rest/digest)

  • Improve cardiovascular health

  • Aid in wound healing

When it comes to earthing think of your body as a battery needing to be recharged especially in modern day society. The hippies were onto something and now we have the research to back it up.

Do you think you’ll start incorporating earthing into your daily health routine?
